Breast Milk Collection and Storage

There are general guidelines for breast milk collection and storage for the healthy baby. They may be used when obtaining milk via a breast pump for occasional "relief" feedings or when collecting milk during regular separation from the baby, such as during work or school days. The mother obtaining milk for an occasional relief feeding may want to consider learning the simple skill of hand expression. Generally, it is as effective as using a breast pump - some mothers find it more effective.

Listed in the directory below you will find some additional information regarding breast milk collection and storage, for which we have provided a brief overview.

If you cannot find the information in which you are interested, please visit the Normal Newborn Online Resources page in this Web site for an Internet/World Wide Web address that may contain additional information on that topic.
