SJMMG Welcomes New Physician to Eureka

On April 1, SJMMG welcomed Payal Patel, M.D. , to Eureka Family Medicine. The practice, located at 179 Eureka Town Center Dr., Eureka, Mo., 63025, phone 636-938-3399, also includes Robert Michaels, M.D., and Tammy Nicholson, FNP.

Dr. Patel graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in biology from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo., in 1992. In 1996, she obtained her medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and, in 1999, completed a family medicine residency at the former Deaconess Hospital West. She also completed a fellowship in Women’s Health at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Before joining the Medical Group, Dr. Patel saw patients at several urgent care centers in Missouri and Illinois between 2005 and 2008. For the past two years, she also worked as a medical business consultant for Federal Occupational Health, and spent time with the Vaccine Center for Development, part of the Infectious Diseases Department at Saint Louis University. In 2005, she was a locum tenens physician for an outpatient community health clinic in Lynnwood, Washington. From 2000-2004, she was the Director of Women’s Health, a full-time faculty member and a faculty coordinator for community medicine for Forest Park Hospital’s family medicine residency program. She received the Faculty of the Year Award in 2001-2002.

Dr. Patel is board-certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians.
