St.

and treatment for psychiatric illness and chemical
dependency for
the community we serve. As a leader in behavioral health services, St. John’s
Mercy Behavioral Health provides high-quality, comprehensive treatment for
senior adults, adults, adolescents and children to offer hope for those whose
lives are affected by these illnesses. In keeping with the St. John’s Mercy
mission of health care ministry, we are committed to providing services with
compassion and respect for the individual person.
Treatment
Philosophy
St. John’s Mercy Behavioral Health offers specialized behavioral health services
for senior adults, adults, adolescents, children and families through various
levels of care, inpatient and outpatient. St. John’s Mercy Behavioral Health
believes that, with professional
counseling, comprehensive education about mental illness and medication therapy
as needed, patients can learn to cope and function with a psychiatric illness
and improve the quality of their lives.
For
individuals who suffer with both a psychiatric illness and chemical dependency,
we offer specialized dual-diagnosis treatment that addresses the problems
and issues of both these primary illnesses. Our multi-disciplinary treatment
for alcoholism and other drug dependencies, and compulsive disorders such
as gambling addiction, is based upon the belief that addiction is a disease.
Treatment includes individual
and group counseling, relapse-prevention techniques, and the ongoing support
of the 12-step programs of Alcoholics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous and other
addiction-recovery support groups.
