Choosing an Obstetrician and Childbirth Center
When you decide to become pregnant or discover you’re expecting, selecting an obstetrician and childbirth center are some of the most important decisions you’ll make for yourself and your baby. Your first step is to choose an obstetrician who will guide you and care for you through the stages of your pregnancy and birth of your baby. Then, as you consider your options for your labor and birth, evaluate how well each childbirth center can meet your immediate needs and your needs in the future.
	A "get-acquainted" meeting is a good way to know whether you and the obstetrician are a good match. Explain the kind of experience you want from your labor and delivery and find out his or her philosophy about pregnancy and birth. Determine whether the obstetrician supports your choice of anesthesia, and find out how he or she feels about breastfeeding.
