Our Mission
More than 125 years ago, the Sisters of Mercy began their mission of providing
health care, with a special dedication to caring for mothers, babies and
children. At St. John's Mercy Hospital, our Mercy Women's Health Services
department continues the mission of caring for women of all ages before
and during pregnancy and after childbirth. Our complete range of prenatal
and women's health care services is provided by highly qualified, experienced
medical professionals who offer personalized care for all our patients.
We are committed to providing quality services for all patients, including
those who are on Medicaid or are uninsured.
Prenatal Services
The birth of a baby is a special time. That's why it's important to take
good care of yourself and your baby, right from the start. At Mercy Women's
Health Services, you receive comprehensive, family-oriented prenatal care
from the time you become pregnant until you deliver your baby. Our medical
professionals offer the experience, skill and support to help you and
your baby be as healthy as possible.

Gynecological Services
Women have specialized health care needs throughout their lives, not just
during pregnancy. After puberty, during childbearing years and even after
menopause, it's important for women to have annual checkups. Mercy Women's
Health Services offers well-woman care and screenings, as well as treatment
and other services to meet your health care needs. Our preventive care
is designed to keep you from developing a problem, or to diagnose, treat
and prevent a problem from progressing or becoming worse.

Our Staff
Mercy Women's Health Services is staffed by medical professionals who
specialize in women's health care. Our staff includes:
Physicians
The doctors who provide gynecological examinations or surgical procedures
are obstetricians/gynecologists. These doctors, board-certified in Obstetrics
and Gynecology, have the experience and training to provide the services
you need.
Nurse Practitioners
Most of your treatment and care at Mercy Women's Health Services is provided
by nurse practitioners who have advanced training and education in women's
health issues. Our nurse practitioners are licensed to perform physical
assessment and evaluation, provide treatment, and write prescriptions
for common illnesses and conditions. They specialize in wellness care,
designed to keep patients healthy and help prevent them from becoming
sick or injured.
Support Staff
To keep things running smoothly, our clerical associates provide receptionist,
scheduling, payment and other business services for our patients and medical
staff.
Hours
Mercy Women's Health Services is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and
Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our physicians
are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to handle any emergency
medical care needs or questions.

Mercy Women's
Health Services also provides these patient services:
- Referral and consultation
with high-risk obstetricians, perinatologists and geneticists as needed
- Social service
assessment and coordination of services NST (non-stress test) evaluation
to determine your baby's well-being in late-term pregnancy
- Dietary consultation
- Mercy Heart Prints
support group for parents who have lost a baby through miscarriage,
stillbirth or following delivery
Payment
Payment is expected at the time medical services and exams are performed.
We accept Missouri Medicaid and many other insurance plans for gynecological
services, and Missouri Medicaid, including Mercy Health Plan and Health
Care USA, for prenatal services. Some patients may qualify for a sliding-scale
fee. Our clerical associates can help you find out about insurance coverage
or set up a payment plan to meet your needs.
