Occupational Therapy Services
Occupational therapy service provides evaluation and treatment for infants and children with difficulties in the following areas:
- Oral Motor and Feeding - refusal to eat, picky eaters, including “food chaining”
- Self-Care - dressing, grooming, eating
- Play Skills - hand use, coordination, floor play
- Fine Motor, Visual Motor and Visual Perceptual Skills - puzzles, scissors, coloring, block designs, tracing, scanning, tracking
- Handwriting Skills - prewriting skills, printing and cursive
- Sensory Processing - sensory seeking or avoidance of textures, movement, or rough house play
- Motor Planning - body in space awareness; difficulties with beginning and sequencing activities
- Strengthening and Coordination
Therapists have advanced training and experience in a number of specialty areas including:
- Sensory Integration
- Neuro developmental treatment (NDT)
- Handwriting
- The Alert Program – How Does Your Engine Run
- Therapeutic Listening
Individual and group therapy can be provided. Parents are encouraged to participate in treatment sessions and therapy goals.
