Voice Disorders/ Vocal Cord Dysfunction
Children as young as five years of age can be seen for evaluation and treatment of voice disorders diagnosed by their ENT.
Speech Language Pathology (SLP) staff works together with pediatric pulmonologists at St. John's Mercy Medical Center to treat children and adolescents diagnosed with vocal cord dysfunction. The SLP works on identifying triggers, educating the patient and family on symptoms and teach strategies to avoid breathing difficulty related to Vocal Cord Dysfunction.
