Chiropractic

chiropracticChiropractic has been used for over 120 years. Chiropractic treatment technique assesses the body as a whole for both spinal and/or extremity function and motion of a joint and for areas of soft tissue involvement. Chiropractors use the information from the initial exam and from palpation of muscles and joints to determine the area that is not moving correctly and then use manual manipulation (commonly called adjustment) to correct this fixation.

Manual techniques for areas involving soft tissue are also used. Once joint and muscle involvement are corrected it allows for optimal biomechanical and neurologic functioning of the body.

Chiropractic adjustments will help with:

  • Restore normal motion to the spine/extremities
  • Relax tight muscles
  • Inhibit pain by increasing the body's natural pain killers (endorphins)
  • Improve immune function

Common conditions that chiropractic can be beneficial for:

  • Acute and subacute back pain
  • Soft tissue cervical spine injuries (whiplash)
  • Acute and chronic neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Fibromyalgia
