Alexander Alsoufiev, MD

Dr. Alsoufiev obtained his medical degree from the Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia. He completed his internships in categorical medicine and pediatrics at the Moscow University City Hospital #9, and served as an attending physician in the Intensive Care Unit of the Moscow Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Alsoufiev was a research associate in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri before completing a residency in internal medicine at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as a primary care physician for Kaiser Permanente in Kansas City, Missouri, before joining the staff of St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, as a hospitalist. He came to the Mercy Hospitalist program in 2002. Dr. Alsoufiev is board certified in internal medicine and is fluent in Russian and English. Dr. Alsoufiev enjoys traveling, being outdoors, biking and fishing.
