Caring for Patients

Starting with the initial referral, the patient receives individualized care and attention from our infusion team of pharmacists and nurses. Before leaving the hospital, the patient is given pre-discharge instructions on the delivery of services and what to expect during their treatment.nurse with woman

When at home, the pharmacist and nurse provide:

  • Coordination of medication, supplies, and equipment;
  • Ongoing hands-on teaching about the signs and symptoms of the patient’s disease or illness, sterile technique, and safely administering the therapy;
  • Patient education materials for easy reference;
  • 24/7 support for patient and caregivers, including weekends and holidays;
  • Monitoring the IV access site, the patient’s condition and responses to therapy.
  • Communication with the patient’s physician.
