"I was
put on hospital bed rest at 28 weeks due to preeclampsia. Three
weeks later, at 31 weeks, my blood pressure spiked and Carter was born. We
spent 4 weeks in the NICU, came home for a few days, and went back
in the pediatric ICU for a week due to heart rate drops. Once
he came home for good, Carter spent five months on a monitor and had
a few feedings issues, but other than that, he has done great! He
initially qualified for physical therapy but by the time the services
were actually put in place, he had completely caught up. We are
constantly amazed by him. He is a happy, healthy little boy. He
is our miracle baby and we are thankful every day for him. I
wanted to become a NICUP to help make an extremely stressful time a
bit easier for other parents. I also wanted to give back to the
Unit that took such good care of our son. It is an honor to
be part of this group."
