"Hannah was born cesarean section at 30 weeks gestation due to my having IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Retardation).  Hannah was 1 lb 4 ½ oz., 12” long at birth.  Shortly after birth Hannah was diagnosed with a Grade 4 IVH, she was on a vent for approximately seven weeks and stayed on oxygen through her stay in the NICU.  Hannah went home at 4 lbs 15 oz. and after three months in the unit.  She remained on oxygen for about four weeks after coming home.  Hannah received additional follow-ups through the First Steps program after coming home.  She is now a healthy, happy 8-year old.

I have been a NICUP for five years and find this group to be the most dedicated group of parents. It's very rewarding to work with the families and staff of the NICU. I am blessed to be able be involved as a NICUP and to have a happy, healthy daughter."
