| Our third child Jake was born to us early at 32 weeks. He was 10lbs and a few ounces. We knew that with my Type 1 Diabetes that Jake may have complications which led us to St. John’s for being the tops of taking care of sick babies. Our complications started in the pregnancy. We were having stress test every week, multiple ultrasounds, and hospital stays. On 12/3/02 we were having a routine stress test and the nurse noticed there was something wrong which led to an emergency c-section. Jake was born and being a mom of two I knew there was something wrong when I heard no cry. That is when the journey began. Jake was taken to the NICU were we spent our time with respiratory problems, feeding issues, and blood transfusions. Our total time in the NICU was 17 days.
Today Jake is healthy and happy. He is the joy of our family and the aggravation to his two older sisters!
