The St. John’s Mercy Skilled
Nursing Center is a 120-bed skilled nursing and residential care facility
located across the
street from St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. The facility is dedicated to
providing post-acute and long-term care, rehabilitation, and respite
care in a homelike environment.
An interdisciplinary approach to patient care assists the resident or patient
to attain or maintain his/her highest practicable physical, mental, spiritual
and psychosocial well-being in an environment that promotes and enhances each
person’s quality of life.
Medical services include
physician and psychiatric consultation, podiatry, dental care, pain management,
and emergency services on campus. Physical, occupational
and speech therapists, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists,
social workers, activity therapists, hospice staff, and case managers work
closely with the patient and family to achieve a common goal of maximum dignity,
function and well-being.
The average length of stay
for short-term patients is 15 days. Long-term residents usually live at the
facility. Our residents benefit from comprehensive long-term care services
