Cardiac Catheterization Lab Reopening on April 1
At St. John’s Mercy Hospital

St. John’s Mercy Hospital is pleased to announce the reopening of the cardiac catheterization lab on Wednesday, April 1. Dr. John Brunts, cardiologist with St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular group who has been serving area residents and patients at the Hospital since 2004, will continue to see patients in his office in the Mercy Medical Building and begin scheduling cardiac catheterization procedures for the lab’s reopening that day.

Dr. Brunts is a member and has the full backing of the St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular group, which includes an experienced team of 13 cardiologists and other medical professionals. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiology. He earned his medical degree at University of Missouri-Kansas City and served his internal medicine residency at Truman Medical Center-West and St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Saint Louis University Hospital.

In addition, cardiovascular surgeons from St. John's Mercy Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Associates have been serving the area for several years and will continue to do so. Close collaboration between St. John’s Mercy cardiologists and surgeons allows for comprehensive treatment planning and care coordination for patients with heart disease.

The reopening of the cardiac catheterization lab at the Hospital continues St. John’s Mercy’s commitment to the community, patients, families and supporters to provide outstanding, high quality medical services close to home. For more information, please call 636-239-8260.
