Your Single Source Access to Mental Health Services

314-469-6644 or 1-800-811-4760

314-469-3638 (TTY for the hearing impaired)

At Behavioral Health Response, mental health professionals are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to help you or someone you know access appropriate mental health care services.

One call to the Crisis Hotline provides you with an evaluation of the situation by a qualified mental health counselor who will then help by:

  • talking you through the crisis; or
  • helping you access a counselor and/or psychiatrists; or
  • helping you get into the hospital; or
  • recommending that you contact one of the many area community resources, such as the Mental Health Association, the Alliance for the Mentally Ill, or Life Crisis Services.

BHR Mobile Outreach Team
Sometimes during the initial telephone evaluation it is apparent to the crisis counselor that the crisis might be escalating. In this case, the telephone counselor might send one of BHR's qualified Mobile Outreach Team counselors to meet you face-to-face. The Mobile Outreach counselor will then conduct a thorough evaluation of your situation and work with you to come up with a plan that helps to resolve the crisis.

The BHR Mobile Outreach Team counselor will help you write a plan. This plan might include:

  • discussing the situation and possible solutions; or
  • identifying some community resources that may be of some help; or
  • recommending an appointment with a qualified therapist or psychiatrist; or
  • helping you get into a crisis bed; or
  • helping you get into the hospital.

Because BHR's Mobile Outreach Team members are located throughout the eastern region of Missouri, they can usually respond to a crisis within one hour of being dispatched.

BHR's Goals
