Thomas Riechers, MD, FACS
Dinesh Vyas, MD, MBBS, MS

Surgeon, Thomas Riechers, M.D., FACS, has practiced medicine for more than 20 years. He has been as staff surgeon at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo., since 1993 and joined St. John’s Mercy Medical Group in 2008.

Dr. Riechers obtained his medical degree from the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1987, and completed a Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1993. Dr. Riechers is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, Arizona College of Surgeons, Missouri State Medical Association and Tri-County Medical Association. He is board-certified in general and vascular surgery and is on staff at St. John's Mercy Hospital, where he currently serves as Chief of the Medical Staff.

Dinesh Vyas, M.D., MBBS, MS

Special interests include laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal/endoscopic surgery, and surgical oncology.


Dr. Dinesh Vyas obtained his medical degree from the University of Rajasthan, Jodhpur, India, in 1997.  He has completed training in the Department of Surgery, Rajasthan University Hospital, Jaipur, India. He was a Visiting Fellow in Trauma and Critical Care and Colorectal Surgery at the Birmingham University, U.K.  He was a Research Fellow in Trauma and Critical Care, and Instructor, Cell Biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.  Dr. Vyas completed his surgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University.  He is Editor-in-Chief, Editor, and Peer Reviewer in multiple international and national medical journals and textbooks.  He was recently nominated as Editor, World Journal of Gastroenterology.  He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors and has published in Basic Sciences, Transplantation Research and Clinical Research throughout his career.  Presently, he is a member of the Association of Academic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and The American Society of Clinical Oncology.
