Frost Joins St. John’s Mercy Hospital as Vice President

Joan Frost, RN, BSN, joined St. John’s Mercy Hospital as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer.

“I am very pleased and excited to join St. John’s Mercy Hospital in its commitment to provide compassion and excellent service to the communities it serves,” said Frost.

Frost comes to St. John’s Mercy Hospital with a wealth of experience. She started her career as a staff nurse at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Mo. She worked in a variety of areas while working at St. John's Mercy Medical Center, Incarnate Word Hospital and Boone County Hospital.

Frost has been with St. John's Mercy Health Care since 1988. In addition to general inpatient hospital care, she spent many years in homecare, hospice and other community-based services. Most recently, she served as a performance improvement specialist at St. John's Mercy Medical Center.

“Joan’s clinical strength, her organizational and communication skills, and her commitment to Mercy values will serve her well in this role,” said Terri McLain, hospital president. “We are very happy to have her.”

Joan earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Maryville University and her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Saint Louis University. She is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Webster University.

Joan and her husband Jerry live in Webster Groves, Mo. They have two grown children, Mitch and Allie.
