The Sisters of Mercy, the St. John’s Mercy Advisory Board and the Executive Team of St. John’s Mercy Hospital, on Oct. 20, recognized Kevin Threlkeld, M.D., for his leadership and service to patients, their families, co-workers, physicians and the community by co-ministering with the Sisters of Mercy at St. John's Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Threlkeld is a State Representative of the 109 th District in the Missouri House of Representatives serving in the 92 nd, 93 rd and 94 th Missouri General Assemblies. His term expires in January. He is a primary care physician in a private practice in O’Fallon, Mo., and is a member of the Missouri State Medical Association.

Dr. Threlkeld is a supporter and donor of St. John’s Mercy Hospital Foundation and has attended Legislators Day at St. John’s Mercy Hospital. He has shared his knowledge of medical legislative issues involving insurance coverage for phase II clinical trials for cancer treatment and has helped establish the Missouri Fibromyalgia Awareness Initiative Program and the Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Quality Assurance Act for credentialing sonographers and vascular technologists.

Dr. Threlkeld has worked with legislative issues involving the Missouri Healthcare Access Fund and has served on the Health Care Policy Committee, the Interim Committee on Health Care Access and Affordability, the Interim Committee on Medicaid Cost and Containment and the Missouri RX Program Commission (formerly the Missouri Senior RX Program Commission). He demonstrated great leadership while serving as a member of Missouri’s 94 th General Assembly, including working on the new MO HealthNet Division (formerly Medicaid) as it transitioned from Medicaid to the newly restructured program. He participated many times as a panelist or speaker for various local and statewide groups.

Dr. Threlkeld lives in Washington with his wife, Gina.
