"Employer of the Year" - Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society St. John's Mercy Medical Center was named "Employer of the Year" for 2006 by the Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The award honors employers who have met the needs of a person living with MS and whose support complies with the American Disabilites Act. St. John's Mercy was nominated by Michelle Keating, RN, who works in the David C. Pratt Cancer Information Center. According to Keating, St. John's Mercy has provided her with immense support to continue her career after she was diagnosed with MS in 1981, including installing a push-button door, working with her schedule to help her better manage the symptoms of MS, and obtaining a scooter to help her make her job easier. |
