Resident Practice Call

Residents answer calls for their own patients seen in the family practice office during regular business hours; during the week the after hours on call resident takes calls for all residents' patients. Sunday call is delegated to a resident who is on an elective for the month. Second and third year residents are assigned four to five Sunday calls throughout the entire year. Patients are encouraged to view the resident as their private physician and vice versa. Call for faculty physician patients is handle by the individual faculty physicians in a similar manner.
