Resident Salaries for 2007-2008

Vacation

Three weeks of vacation are allowed each year of residency.

Meals

All meals are provided free to residents at SJMMC dining facility when they are working.

Parking

Parking is free in the assigned reserved physician’s garage.

Insurance & Medical Care

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage are provided for all house officers and their eligible family members. Professional liability insurance for residents with respect to their clinical activities is also provided. Life insurance premiums are paid by the Medical Center, and benefits are paid to the specified beneficiary in accordance with the salary schedule. Long-term disability insurance also is provided by the Medical Center.

Maternity/Paternity Leave

Leave is consistent with the ACOG and Family Leave Act of six weeks paid leave.

Continuing Education Meetings & Workshops

First and second year residents may attend local meetings as approved by the Residency Director.

Third year residents may attend national meetings as approved by the Residency Director. In addition, third years attend the leadership conferences Optimistic Futures and the CREOG Leadership Conference.

Chief residents may attend a national meeting as approved by the Residency Director including the National ACOG Conference. In addition, fourth year residents attend a board review course.
